I don’t have my own research ideas but would like to be involved. What options do I have?

There are lots of options to get involved such as supporting recruitment and data collection with active studies. Contact us to find out what most suitable for you, bchc.ri-info@nhs.net.

I want to publish my undergraduate dissertation, can you help?

Yes. We have academic links who can provide you with the support you need

I need trust approval for my research, do I contact you?

Yes. All research conducted within the trust needs approval from R&I

I have to do a project for my Master’s degree, can you help?

Yes. We can help with gaining the necessary regulatory approvals and setting up your project

Will my line manager support me?

Yes. Research is part of the NHS Constitution, key BCHC strategies and is evaluated as  part of CQC inspections. R&I can help facilitate discussions with line managers where necessary

Do I need previous research experience to get involved?

No, anyone can get involved

I have an idea for an innovation or a challenge in my service that requires an innovative solution, how can I get support from the R&I team?

You can submit your idea through the homepage of the intranet by clicking on “Submit a New Idea or Challenge” link or the below:  Challenge Innovation

There is an app that I want to have deployed in my service. Who do I contact and what process do I follow?

There is a “Software & System Application Approval Process” policy being developed that will provide details on how to progress such requests

Is there internal funding available for reseach or innovation projects?

From the funds available to the R&I team, we can sometimes allocate seed funding towards a research or innovation project being set up or piloted. For further details, please contact us on bchc.ri-info@nhs.net

I would like to know more about research methods and study design, can you help?

Yes, you can start by completing the CiPi modules created by the BCHC team. (The website is not yet live but the link will be provided soon.)

I need access to a specific software to complete my university studies, can you provide it?

No. Software should be provided by your academic host. If you require access to specialist software such as SPSS, NVIVO for in Trust related activities please contact bchc.ri-info@nhs.net
